Solar Panel Cleaning in Western Sydney

Western Sydney panels deal with more dust than coastal ones, from dry weather, busy roads and new estates going up. Bird droppings and, in bad fire seasons, ash add to it. We clean with pure water and soft brushes, and we help you work out whether a drop in output is dirt or something else.

Local knowledge

What’s different about solar panel cleaning in Western Sydney

Dusty conditions

JinkoSolar's manual suggests cleaning about once a year and more often in dusty conditions, which fits much of Western Sydney. Sticky dust and droppings on flatter panels are the build-up most likely to need a hand. Loose dust on steeper panels often rinses off with rain.

Smoke haze is not dirt

CSIRO reported that Sydney rooftop output fell sharply on heavy smoke-haze days in December 2019. That drop was the haze blocking the sun, not dirty panels. If output dips on a smoky day, wait for clear skies. If ash has settled on the panels afterwards, that is when a clean helps.

Check your numbers first

If your inverter or app shows daily output, compare a sunny day now with a sunny day at the same time last year. A drop that does not recover after rain points to build-up. We would rather you book because the numbers say so than because we did.

Droppings are one of the main reasons Western Sydney panels need cleaning, so if pigeons are nesting underneath, fitting mesh in the same visit stops the mess coming back.

Questions

Solar Panel Cleaning in Western Sydney: questions

Something else? Call 0468 070 392 or ask in the quote form.

My output dropped on a smoky day. Do my panels need cleaning?

Probably not yet. Smoke haze cuts sunlight for as long as it lasts. Check your output again on clear days. If it stays low, or you can see ash or grime on the panels, a clean is worth it.

How often should panels be cleaned in a dusty area?

Panel makers such as JinkoSolar suggest about once a year, and more often in dusty conditions. Homes near building sites or with low-tilt panels may need it more. We will give you our honest view after the first clean.

What does the job report show?

Photos and video of each group of panels before and after, plus anything we noticed on the roof, such as cracked glass, loose fittings, droppings or signs of nesting.
