Our pressure cleaning covers driveways, paths, patios, pool surrounds and similar hard surfaces, with the pressure and technique set for each surface. It includes pre-treating mould, moss and oil marks, detailing edges, steps and joints, and before-and-after photos. Sealing is an optional extra, quoted per square metre.
Pressure cleaning removes the mould, algae, oil and grime that make driveways and paths look tired and, in shaded or damp spots, slippery underfoot. Left alone, oil and tyre marks sink further into porous concrete and become harder to shift. It is also one of the quicker ways to lift a home’s street appeal before selling or leasing.
There is no fixed schedule; most homeowners book when the surface looks grimy, turns slippery, or before a sale, lease or event. Shaded, damp areas and pool surrounds grow mould and algae faster than sunny, open concrete. Sealing after a clean can stretch out the time until the next one.
Even results on concrete come from a rotary surface cleaner, which holds the spray at a steady distance and avoids the lines a hand-held wand leaves. Stains are pre-treated first, then the surface is cleaned in overlapping passes before the edges are detailed and the surrounds rinsed. Pavers, sandstone and timber get lower pressure, with a test patch first.

Most driveway, path and patio jobs are finished in a single visit, and the time is confirmed with your quote. It depends on the area, the surface, how heavy the mould and stains are, and whether sealing is added. A sealed surface also needs to be kept clear while it cures, and that time is listed on your quote.
You can, and plain concrete is the most forgiving surface for a careful DIY clean, but damage usually comes from too much pressure held too close. Pavers lose their joint sand, sandstone erodes, timber furs up and a hand wand can leave stripes on concrete. A professional should adjust the pressure for each surface, test first and tell you upfront which stains are unlikely to lift fully.
No, sealing is optional and priced separately per square metre, so you only pay for it if it suits your surface. A penetrating sealer makes oil and food spills easier to clean up and slows mould on shaded areas. The sealer type, number of coats and cure time are listed on your quote.
Yes, concrete handles pressure cleaning well when the pressure is even and the spray is kept at a consistent distance. Problems start when a narrow jet is held too close, which can etch the surface or leave visible lines. A rotary surface cleaner avoids this, and older or crumbling concrete is checked and photographed before we start.
Yes, if the pressure is too high it can wash out paver joint sand and erode the face of soft, porous sandstone. That is why these surfaces get lower pressure, a soft-wash approach and a test patch in an out-of-the-way spot first. Render, painted walls, older fibro that may contain asbestos and solar panels are never pressure cleaned at all.
Wipe up oil and food spills quickly, before they soak into porous concrete or stone. Keep shaded areas swept of leaves and trim back plants that keep them damp, since that is where mould comes back first. If you added sealing, stay off it for the cure time on your quote; a sealed surface is easier to keep clean between visits.

By surface
The mistakes in pressure cleaning come from treating every surface the same. This is how we handle the common ones.
Even passes with a rotary head so you don’t get stripes. Deep, old oil stains often fade rather than vanish, and we tell you which ones before we start.
Enough pressure to lift grime and weeds without scouring out the joint sand. If joints need topping up afterwards, we point it out in your report.
Soft and porous, so high pressure can erode the face. We use low pressure and a soft-wash approach, starting with a test patch in an out-of-the-way spot.
Low pressure, worked along the grain to avoid furring the timber. Clean timber shows where the old finish has worn, and we’ll tell you if it is due for re-oiling.
The focus is slip-causing algae and mould on coping and paving. We keep cleaning runoff out of the pool water wherever practical.
Moderate pressure to protect grout lines. White, powdery bloom on tiles is often salt coming through from below rather than dirt, and we tell you if that’s what you have.
